Wanted to get her a 9mm.
I don't want this to turn into a "which calibre is best" argument. Suffice it to say, she's getting a 9mm and I took her to the gun store to "try" out a bunch of models to see what was comfortable in her hand. Tried Glocks, Sigs, Beretta, and a non M&P Smith and Wesson before she tried a Springfield XD. She loved the grip. Said it was very comfortable in her hand.
Just found it interesting especially since I found the 45 XD so comfortable. She even liked the look of the XD. I was pleasantly surprised, since I love my XD.
Just a suggestion though, if shopping for your wife, let her find something she finds comfortable because tiny differences in the gun, make big differences in what feels good in her hands.
