I just purchased the RIA tactical 9 for 389.99. It surpised me at how well it shoot and was very accurate out of the box. Don't like the sights being not exact novak cut though I can have it sent to RIA and they will mil them for me. I would say that it shoots very competevly with my Springfield TRP, which was alot more painful of the pocket book.

My newest list is:

Kahr pm9
Taurus 709
Glock 19

The kahr is my favorite gun that can be worn anywhere, pocket or IWB. The taurus makes a great IWB gun. The glock 19 is for when I want to double my firepower.

My personal top three:

Kel-Tec P-11 which is what I have on my belt right now.

Colt Commander .45 ACP in stainless, my next prefered carry weapon. Actually, if it's cold weather, I carry this all the time (heavier clothing).

Smith & Wesson model 36 When I am feeling lazy and want to just carrry in a jacket pocket or whatever.

That pesky period button must be on the fritz.

Well now that I have a Ruger LCP. I figured I'd update my list.

1. Glock 27, still stoked with 180gr Federal Tactical Bonded JHP's in a UBG Canute and a Wilderness Tactical 5 stitch belt

2. Ruger LCP with 90gr Hornady Critical Defense carried either with a Desantis Nemesis in my back pocket or a spibelt when I go run.

3. Smith and Wesson Mod. 37
Still trying to find one a reasonable price.

MY top 3 choices for concealed carry:

1. Sig 232, for sweatshirt weather concealed carry
2. S&W 442, for summer concealed carry
3. Kimber Tactical II, 3inch barrel for winter concealed carry

1. Smith 61 escort (22LR) very compact so it gets carried 90% of the time

2. Colt Agent with Plus P 38 special 110 grain HP (10% of the time and I
hope I have it when I need it over the Smith 61)

1. KelTec P3at the most (front pocket while at work)

2. Taurus PT1911/ S&W Sigma 40VE

the S&W and Taurus are a tie because it just depends on what i feel like that day and where i might be headed.

Very simple.

1) Glock 19
2) Glock 26
3) Glock 17

Usually I carry my Glock 19 because I can comfortably conceal it. However if I cannot I usually end up with a Glock 26 on my person. And when I can I will usually be toting the Glock 17. I do want to get a Glock 20SF for a woods gun.

West German made walther ppk/s .380 at the 4 o'clock position in an IWB Galco holster with spare clip in weak side pocket. I suggest only the flat bottom magazines as the finger extension tends to print at least with my body frame. I'm 5'11 & 197 pounds so it is hard for a guy like me sometimes to keep from printing because most of my clothes fit kind of snug & go in at the waist side. I carry the pistol loaded with Hornady xtp bullets.
In colder weather with a winter coat I carry a blued 70 series Colt Combat Commander 4.25" barrel 45acp. Pistol & ammo has been around for 100 years so maybe there is something to that! I carry my pony full of Hornady Critical Denfense ammo.

Started out with a Smith model 36, and carried it for years. Then came the 9MM craze, and suddenly I HAD to have more firepower! Smith once agian answered the call with a model 39, and all was right with the world. Wasn't long before the stopping ability of the 9 came into question and I too "jumped ship" from the 9MM camp.
Next came a Kimber Pro-Carry in 45 this was it! Without question "the prefect gun", Every thing in the past was simply bad judgement on my part. 45APC or stay home! Wasn't to many years later that the kimber became too much of everything.
So now should you pass me on the street, you'll never notice, that my old friend, a smith model 36 (same one) is back in my right pocket as it was back in the late 60's. Do I need or should carry more gun? If I think so I have several to choose from!

glock 26,sig 238,kahr p380 love my glock but every day carry p380 is the one. both 380s are easy to shoot and and hide. glock is just to thick and i am thnking of selling the glock for the kahr pm9. Shoot the kahr and sig much better then the glock.

I'd bet the top 3 guns actually carried by popularity (including off duty cops and CCW holders) are 1911's, Glocks of some sort, and J-frame S&W's.

Illegally carried is a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

I have three CC guns based on my attire:
1) HKP2000sk .40/.357 sig - IWB or hip holster for casual dress with untucked shirt
2) Ruger LC9 - front pocket or Desantis tuckable holster for work cloths - slacks with tucked in button up or Polo shirt
3)Ruger LCP - front pocket or IWB for exercise type clothing or as a backup to 1 or 2
