Sig
BHP
And a lot of other fine weapons listed
And then include a Glock????????????????

Because they aren't totally daft? Your question is like asking how people could include Honda on a list of best motorcycle manufacturers.

IMHO the top 5 in terms of overall importance not based on objective criteria at all:

1911A1
BHP
Glock 17
Sig 220
CZ 75B

I know that's two JMB designs on the list but I think that when you look at the world at large, you have to pretty much put the BHP as the #1 pistol ever, and you can't talk about the BHP's design and development without looking back at the 1911. I put the 1911A1 on my list because imho it's probably the gun most of us are actually familiar with not the original 1911.

My personal 5:

XD45ACP
Ruger 22/45
Glock 19
1911A1

Mostly because that's what I've got... for #5 I'd add a want:

Sig 226 (want)

SA Professional 1911 FBI Spec
BHP Belgium 9MM
Glock 17
Sig 229 German manf.
S&W M-19 pinned and recessed

Beretta 92fs/m9 ( Beretta been in bussiness for 400 years... I think or 300?)
Colt 100 years almost
Glock
Sig
HK

1. 1911

Single stack, double stack, competition or defense, it doesn't matter. You can mold it to fit your needs, and when given the respect it demands, it will become an extension of your body and allow you to deliver fast and accurate rounds on target better than any other platform.

2. Glock

"Perfection", nothing is perfect, but the Glock comes pretty close as a service pistol imo. There is something to be said about simplicity, and the Glock led the way in the simple service pistol design imo. Load, point, and press. Low maintenance and light weight due to the use of polymer, and about as simple to use as an automatic pistol can be. Rugged, reliable, easy to operate, and low cost, it is no surprise that the Glock became so popular with LEO's and the public alike.

3 & 4. Springer XD and the Smith M&P series

Both have taken the Glock to a whole new level imo. Simple, low cost, and with better ergonomics. Excellent firearms for service and civilian use alike. Time will tell if they can unseat the Glock as the top polymer king.

5. CZ 75

THE excellent full metal full sized 9mm that feels more like a compact. The CZ improves on the BHP by adding double action capabilities, and an easier to manipulate thumb safety. The CZ is a well crafted and sturdy 9mm that can serve as either a service or defensive pistol with ease.

1911 .45ACP
Ruger MkII .22lr
Glock 19
Browning HP
Sig 226

No particular order other than 1911 is first.

Colt Series 70 Government, possibly with a few enhancements.
Colt Steel Commander
Custom 1911's like Wilson, Ed Brown, etc.
Highpower, with a few enhancements
Smith and Wesson model 41

Sig P226 SCT .40
Sig P229 SCT .40
Smith and Wesson M&P .40 Pro 5"
Smith and Wesson M&P .40 Compact
Beretta 90-Two .40

I think I teared up a little when looking back at that list. I'm a blessed man! Haha

1. 1911A1 Springfield Mil Spec
2. Browning Hi Power
3. Colt 1908 Pocket auto .380
4. MKII Ruger .22LR
5......Could only think of 4. I am more of a revolver guy. And no Glocks for a reason!

1) CZ 85 Combat.
2) BHP T series.
3) Bulgarian Makarov Circle 10.
4) Walther PPKS, Interarms.
5) Hi Standard Military 107.

I have allot more but just put these down. CZ 75 compact, S&W 6906, Beretta 87, Dedicated CZ Kadet. Hard to just pick 5. Colt 1991 A1. This could keep going.
