Anybody have any links or ideas on the torture tests that they made on te above pistols? I read the torture test made on the CZ-PO1s and would like to know about the Sigs and HKs adopted by the Department of Homeland Security. Thanks.

I don't know about the tests the SIG pistols go through with the exception of the P228 passing the U.S. Military pistol trials with ease and I have read that the SEALs feel that the P226 is as reliable or moreso then the S&W 686 revolvers that they also use.

The SIG 550 rifles though are put through a brutal test similar to the famed Glock 17 tests only worse.

As for HK about the only thing I know is they test all their handguns with SUPERHOTCRAZYBUTTSTOMPER loads and are one of the only companies who say in their manual that +P +P+ +++++++PPPPPP +Cruise Missile etc. can be safely fired from the guns.

I know the USP has been tested by lodging a bullet in the barrel and then firing a round behind it. Then they cleared the gun and it still shot something like 4" at 25 yards.

I watched a video of a women who worked at H&K, she pulled a P2000 polymer frame from a bin and proceed to pound on it with a hammer about 4 times. Not even a scratch.

They have frozen loaded USPs, taken them out, and with ice still caked about the frame, fired the entire magazine with nary a problem.

Ruger testing

I can't find the referance but Ruger has tested some range rentals with over 200,000
rounds and no noticeable wear.

Frozen Pistols-

Howdo all, we've done pretty much the same "testing" in Anchorage during the winter months with several popular models of bottom feeders.
Temp was around 40 below w/o factoring in the nice breezy day, we shot two mags each through each example then tossed the loaded guns into the nearby snowdrift and had a cigarette.
Upon retrieving the guns they resembled snowballs, they were totally glaciated with ice.
The Glock 17&19, H&K USP .45acp and Colt 1911 CE all functioned 100% tho no real surprise.
My only experience with a failed H&K USP was an experimental 10mm conversion from a .40S&W USP that ate it's aluminum rails at about 5K rounds.

HK uses aluminum rails in their USP series pistol? I've got a full size .40 and a 9mm Compact and they both appear to be steel.
