Toy guns banned?

Arfin,

At least you had boards to cutout your own guns. We had to use whatever fingers that hadn't been chopped off in farming accidents. I asked for a scrap pine board every Christmas, but never got one.

We only got a small bowl of warm dirt on Holidays, and relished every spoonful.

Plus we had to walk 10 miles uphill to school, both ways, in 8 ft of snow and if there wasn't any snow, we had make our own.

:neener: :neener: :neener: :neener:

But to address the OP:

Aurora, IL has banned the possession of "Replica Guns" by anyone under the age of 18, IIRC.

Wow, that search thingy really does work:

Ah yes, the classic "if it saves JUST one life"....

That being the case, will you applaud stores that protect us from ourselves (or our children from themselves) by stopping the sale of fish tanks, 5 gallon pails, landscape ponds, water coolers, sinks, garbage cans, cookware, bathroom floors, an outdoor garbage dump, an outdoor drainage pot, a horse
trough, a septic tank, and a diaper pail.

Because at least one child died in each of those (38 total) between 1996 and 1999. And those were kids under 5, which we'd probably agree need the most protection.

I bought my 9 year-old a real Ruger 10/22 rifle and I let her shoot my Walther P22 and Bersa Thunder .380, but I will not buy her a toy that looks like a real gun. There should be a clear distinction between the two. In fact, I really don't want my kids to play with toy guns that might help them develop sloppy handling habits. I bought an airsoft gun for her, but it is clear plastic and looks like a toy. I make her follow the Four Rules whenever she uses it.
