I had a Ruger SR1911 that I traded for recently, and I really wanted a Springfield XD-M .45. I listed my Ruger for trade the other night for a XD-M, and met up with a guy that had a brand new in box XD-M .45.

He was an older gentleman, and said that he had been on the lookout for a Ruger SR1911 for awhile now. So we traded guns.

The guy that I traded with said he purchased the XDm a week ago, and it wasn't shot yet. He said he couldn't find a Ruger SR1911 in stock anywhere, which is what he wanted to begin with. The spent casing envelope has a date of 10/14/13 on it, so it was a brand new XDm.

I am a happy camper right now. I have been wanting a XD-M .45 for a couple of years now. I will be taking it to the range sometime next week.

My SR1911 only had 100 rounds through it so far, and was in excellent condition. We were both happy with the trade.

I got my XDs .45 back from Springfield earlier this week. I've got 400 rounds of Federal fmj to put through The XDm and XDs next week at the range. I can't wait!

Here is a pic of the big brother with the little brother:D

I think you will like it.
I am very satisfied with my XDM compact .45. Great shooter and has digested everything I have run through it. Trigger is not great but it didn't hinder good accuracy.

I just spent some time at a range with a rental XD9, it was very accurate.
So I'm thinking 500 rounds from now things should really smooth out.

I just ordered a set of Meprolights and a Streamlight TLR-1s for the XDm .45. It will be my primary HD pistol.

I ordered 2 sets of Meprolights, one for my XD-9, and one for the XDm. They are both the yellow rear dots, green front dot.

I have a set of Ameriglo yellow rear/green front on my XDs .45, and I like that configuration a lot.

I am really considering a XDm .45 3.8 now. Along with my XDs .45 and XDm .45 4.5, I would have a great warm weather carry gun (XDs), cold weather carry gun (3.8), and HD gun (4.5).

I liked my 4.5" XDM in .40 S&W so much I bought an identical one with a chrome slide chambered in 9mm. They're excellent pistols with great accuracy, reliability, and so far mine have both been very durable. The melonite finish stands up pretty well to abuse too.

I have all three XD's in 45 ACP, and I am impressed with all, The 5.25 XDm with the CT Sight, is a TACK Driver, Will see about the XDs in a few days when the weather looks a little dryer. the 4.25 Is very nice for carry, and the extra firepower, The XDs 3.3 Holster is uncomfortable for me, Got a Thunderwear as a Temp Solution. Very eager to check the XDs with the new CT Sight as well.

Great Trade, I believe you will be happy, just don't be afraid to get a hold of the XDm, as it needs a Mansize Grip to properly function. If you don't have a solid Firearm Grip, don't get an XDM/s, you won't like it.

Otherwise, Sick em...

Night time comfort,
Colt Agent 45ACP, CT Laser, a Remington 870 Tactical, CT Laser, and 190 Lumen Night Light.

All the time comfort,
Colt LE, 5.56mm, Quad Rails, Laser, 150 Lumen Light, a Bunch of the Magpul 30’s, Springfield XD(M) 45 ACP 4.25 & 5.25 w/CT Laser, XD(S) 45ACP 3.3 w/CT Laser, a Henry 45LC Mares Leg, Winchester Model 94, 3030, H&K MP5, Sig Sauer Mosquito, Savage 17HMR, Sweet 17 Scope. Remington .243, Beretta 92FS, CZ 75 (Original) Still a Tack Driver), too many more to list.

It is always nice when both parties get exactly what they want. I hope you both continue to enjoy your new pistols.
