The title says it all, I traded into a 2007 fullsize HK USP 45 with the case, bright Tru Dot night sights, 4- 12 round mags and 3- 20 round mags for $650. How did I do?

This is my first HK, and although I probably will not carry it due to its large size, it should make for a sweet home defense peice!

So school me on what I need to know HK guys! Pics to come!

Good gun... you only gave $650 for it? If you did that is a good deal esp will the mags. I liked mine OK I could never get used to the mag release and found that the DA was to heavy and the SA not as nice as a 1911 so I let it go..... for more than $650. LOL

benzino,

Considering the mags go for a princely sum, you did fine. If you're mechanically inclined, you can improve the SA tremendously. All you need is a diamond knife sharpening stone and a 10# wolf hammerspring (about $10.00 delivered).

I wound up cutting the hammer hook on mine .012" and it's very impressive now, not a 1911, but still very sweet. You may like the stock trigger in SA, but mine kinda sucked.

My USP is my SHTF go to gun.

Great gun, super reliable. It feeds anything and can handle any .45 load.
Mine shot like a champ with my handloads and factory ammo.
With all those mags, the price was good.
Do not ride the safety, it can de-cock on you.

You did great. I suggest using the gun a bit and learning to control the trigger as is. It's not a tricked out match pistol, no doubt, but it will do the job if you do yours. There's no more reliable gun available in my opinion. You can carry cocked-and-locked or hammer down, double action first pull. I like the feel of the newer HK45c better just because of the size of my hand. I have owned the Tactical .45 and the USP.45F and the USP compact. You will always have a gun that works and will hit what you aim at. What more do we want, I mean .....really? It's the perfect home defense pistol imo. Especially with the night sights. If you want to meet up with nothing but HK enthusiasts, check out HKPro.com. That's all they talk about over there.

Mine are surgically accurate, bad trigger or not. Hell, triggers are ove rated anyway, and the USPs shoot in nicely. You did fine on the gun.

Oh man this thing shoots sweet!! I was able to run almost 100 various rounds through it, including +p HPs, standard HPs and ball ammo also. It was crazy accurate, esspecially for the first time shooting it. Also no malfunctions of any kind! I think I am in love!;)

uh oh...another convert. Give over control of your bank account to a person less vulnerable to the sickness. :)
