Hey pals. So, I now have a registered AR-15 SBR. I would like to acquire a 9mm shorty upper. If I had my druthers, it would be like the Colt 9mm SMGs of yesteryear. Like this ...

Or even better, the DOE version, like this ...

Is there any outfit producing a complete upper like either of those? Thanks!

P.S. Don't give a rip about proprietary magazines, as long as I can buy them in quantity.

Try Model1Sales, they used to make retro XM style kits.

Thanks for the note. That is the first vendor I tried, but, alas, they appear to be sold out on that particular model. I'll call them tomorrow to confirm though.

Parts shouldn't be difficult to obtain to build an upper, if you've never done it now may be the perfect time to start.

I couldn't find a slick side upper receiver when I built mine so I ended up using an A2 receiver that I had laying around. The upper receiver is a DPMS A2 with a Rock River Arms 10.5" barrel. The lower is a CMMG Mk9 pistol lower with a Sig arm brace. I built mine as a pistol until I decide whether to do the SBR paperwork or not.
