I am sticking with the .330 balls. Once they are tapped down flush, they are not hard to finish pushing down with the wood dowel and hammer.
This was the first BP gun I have bought that has never had a jam... or any issues. Of course it is a single shot though.. But after spending the money on all of the others that need a rake, different nipples, "fine tuning", it is a breath of fresh air to shoot one right out of the box that just needs powder, a cap and lead.

You wont be disappointed. The brass gets dull real quick..but some "Mothers Mag Wheel Polish" will make it shine.

What nipple wrench fits in there? The one I have for my black powder rifle is entirely too large.
I do have some Brasso and like yours it was dull when I first opened up the box but I got it to shine up pretty quick. Might have to give that polish a try.
Oh and already fired one shot through it and I already love it LOL.

I have found that the patched Round Ball or loose fitting ball, just makes more sense. Any small variance in ball diameter, alloy composition, or a little powder fouling, will make loading a total nightmare!!

With a patch, you can shoot about anything...22 call airgun pellets work well too. Or just an over-powder coupled with an over-shot wad, used together, make the VPD much more fun!!
Been shooting mine for almost 20 years and smiling every time that I take it out!
