Hello Guys

Here in Lima there is a really scaring thing going on..the rate of child abduction by criminals (kidnapping) is going up to the clouds....not only kids are being kidnapped, but unplanned kidnapping (they see you at the streets, you look like you had some money, they kidnap you and ask for a 500 USD ransom so they will be payed quickly) is all over the news.

Lima is becomong a very dangerous city, and I decided that maybe there was something I could do...

Although guns in Lima are VERY expensive, most business owners have one, and some private citizens also do.The estimate is that every year Lima buys around 4500 guns. So I thought that maybe I could open a little training facility (clasroom hours and range hours) for the training in self-defense and weapon handling. (Do'nt laugh, in lima only 5% of gun carriers paractice more than once a year).

So, as a business opportunity, I am starting one...the only thing is that before I even think of doing so I would like to know which are the best things that I can teach (me and a group of friends -bodyguards-) and which are not really needed.

The course would be directed to owners of Mypes (Micro and small businesses) who can not afford bodyguards but who actually earn more money that the standard person and are in more abduction risk

I was thinking about:

Classroom:

- Gun safety
- Types of Guns (Semi vs Revolver)
- Gun Maintenance
- Know the parts of your gun
- How and when to apply lethal force
- Peruvian regulations
- Civilian responsability
- Home defense
- Carrying a gun
- Home defense vs Carry
- Caliber election

Range

- How to face home invasion
- Firing from a holster
- Israeli techniques
- Shooting mistakes correction (With a Walther P-22)
- Caliber recoil check

I would love to hear your suggestions on this topic....the course will only cost the price of the ammo used, so it is some kind of social service (I say "some kind" because over time I will maybe start bodyguard training and I could really use the references.)

Please, if any of you have attended "thunder ranch" or similar and have some information on what is tought there, I would really appreciate the material.

Thanks

Rogelio

I'd get in touch with a better quality traveling trainer in the US that does overseas classes (John Farnam and Gabe Suarez come to mind). Have them come down for a week and train an instructor core group.
