I have some rifles I purchased without my C&R FFL and some that I have or will purchase with the license. I would like to give one of my rifles as a gift to my dad that now lives in another state (he moved to a state that allows use of a rifle to take deer) when he visits me this summer.
Is this legal?
Does it matter if I purchased the rifle with or without my C&R?
Do I need to transfer the firearm to an FFL in his state if I am giving it as a gift? I think the anser is "yes" but I just want to get a confirmation. I guess I would just have to pay the transfer fee of the FFL in his state.
