Come on down to Sunny Arizona. Our legislature is in the process of passing a wide open carry law whereby OC and CC are treated as same-same.

Currently under Arizona law it is generally legal to carry a firearm openly as long as you are 18 years of age and not prohibited from possessing a firearm. However, if the firearm becomes covered, say with a coat, or if you are a woman and prefer to carry your firearm in your purse, you need to possess a concealed carry permit. The permit system is expensive and time consuming, considering all you have done is change your attire. While the recently amended language would allow law-abiding persons to carry their firearm concealed, it would not allow those without permits to carry concealed in places that require a permit, such as restaurants. It is the intention of the NRA to fully support the amended version of HB 2347 and provide greater freedom of choice for Arizona gun owners.

When you get to AZ, first, WELCOME!, then second, get you AZ permit. Same prices as resident, no differance. We have plenty of room - but can you put up with the heat?

Yeah I was thinking about getting my permit, but I will only be there for 6 days so I really don't see a need to do that. Also, I'll be going in March before the heat gets here!

I was raised in Bloomington/Normal (Towanda actually), Illinois and lived in Chicago in my early thirties, then moved to AZ. I love the freedom out here! The heat gets old but the freedoms make up for it.

Bringing a gun doesn't make me a man? I'd rather attempt to stop my foe before it gets close to me. I have a better change against a bear when he's 20 feet away, not 2 feet away. Thanks anyways.

Sign up for concealed carry class in ILLINOIS. Some gun shops offer the classes. Either UTAH or FLORIDA or both available. You then can carry concealed in many other states NOT ILLINOIS. Join ISRA if you are res of ILLINOIS.
