"I’d go with “Trespassers will be violated”. If they’ve seen "Deliverance”, they’ll get the message"

Next time I am alone with the stencle cutting machine I will make one.

How bout one of them old school ruskie ones with some poor sucker getting shot in the back and big bold crylic letters proclaiming

This is more historically correct.
It says " Trespassing is forbidden - forbidden zone! guards are shooting without warning"

Just use standard posted signs.

My uncle did put some signs with MUCH stronger language in his tree stands that were a good distance from the road. They were funnier more than anything, but he would be SO mad if someone else used his stand and we were family!

for many years, my ex-wife's uncle

(now deceased) posted his ranch with this sign:

Surviving Trespassors Will Be Prosecuted

I love Oregon, but I'm guessing you're from the Southern portion where the liberal infection is not so prevalent.

Also, in Southern Oregon, you watch your step anyway if you have half a clue of the typical underground anyway.

There are no jeep trails on your land are there, please don't shoot at me, shoot with me.

We have a sign in our dining room window that says:

"Do you believe in life after death?
Trespass here and find out!"

:D

A friend gave the sign to me back when we had a pervert creeping around our place stalking our daughters. I didn't have any "no trespasing" type signs before that happened. Now the whole place is plastered, except some of the signs are succumbing to the elements.

I've always thought the "Achtung: Minen" German minefield signs were the best. I've been wanting to put one in the backyard with the dog doo. I do like the "There's nothing on this property worth your life" sign idea.

Learn the law. If I remember correctly Oregon law states that the river bed up to the normal high water mark is considered " Public Property" and can be enjoyed by all. Know where the "normal" high water mark is, HINT; it isn't the rivers edge at summer flow. Driftwood might be an indicator of "normal " low water mark so add a little.

The government own the water and the fish but not the river bed (at least that is how it is here.) Some guy tried to pull that one on my grandparents land, he started fishing and my grandpa told him to get the hell off his property. He responded that the government owns the water and fish, not my grandpa. He told him, "Fine, if you can walk on water you can fish here all you want." My great grandma used to shoot there fishing poles from the porch with her rifle:D

I know a guy who owns a huge piece of land in Central Oregon. Apparently his ranch hands are more or less deputized and arrest trespassers on the spot. I don't know all the details but it might be worth looking into.

Personally, I'd let give a couple responsible locals permission to fish or whatever there- signs do less good than someone actually watching the place who can report problems on the spot.

A relative has a weekend place at the end of a private road in the woods. He allowed a fulltime resident closer to the main road to park a couple cars at his place when he was having some sort of dispute with his ex wife. In return, the other guy (who seems to spend a lot of time cleaning shotguns on his front porch) checks out anyone going past his place toward my relative's. Nobody trashes the weekend house during the week. Better for all concerned.

Make a sign that says:

Government Bio Testing area
Warning Keep out!
Do not ingest any animals or plant life
from this area.

Do what my neighbor in the Mat-Su sticks did--just hang a target out front with a group on it, circle the group and write "YOU ARE HERE."

Just post the "No Trespassing" signs. Anywhere you find a footpath start planting brambles.

Awesome Idea!!! Russian thistle comes to mind as a hearty brush that grows anywhere... and it has 3" needles that cut through full grain leather hehe.

A sign welcoming you to the town of Chernobyl.
A photograph by Elena Filatova
I'll have to see if I can find the link to here web site. See has done some really neat photography work of Chernobyl and the areas around it. Creepy really.
Oleg do you know her?

I always liked the following two signs
"No Trespassing Violators will be Persecuted" or
"Trespassers will be Ritually Cursed" followed by a a Wiccan Pentacle
