I tested today at the range a C-Lect choke vented rib 26" old barrel I recently got for free.
I love the C-Lect system I have already another 28" (non vented) barrel which works perfectly.
The problem with this "new" one is that the sleeve is a bit too loose...it threads nicely but I doubt it stays on the chosen mark during shooting...I can almost spin it for few turns at the touch of a finger.

In the other C-Lect barrel I own, the sleeve snugs nicely and firmly before engaging the thread.

I suspect the prongs are a bit too closed but visually I cannot really tell compared to the other C-Lect I have.

Someone told me I could resolve the problem shooting a box of rifled slugs with the sleeve off to open them up a bit...I'm afraid it would not work and I would risk breaking the prongs off.

Any suggestions???

Thanks!!

Never shoot it with the sleeve off!!! I have seen the result of this with a highschool buddies old Mossberg bolt action. It opened the fingers up to look like a blooming flower, and that was with birdshot.

Need something in the threads to gum it up a bit. I am thinking teflon tape like that used to seal threaded water pipes but I do not know if that is a good answer.

The problem is the sleeve was left at full setting so long the fingers have taken a set and need to be gently spread. Try a tapered wooden dowel driven in and left in place for several days. Might re-spread the fingers eventually.
Lesson, don't leave your choke cranked to full for long periods of time.
