Greetings all, I have a Rem 700 action that I am going to Hart Rebarrel .308 (think 40X build)
For the trigger:
A. Timney
B. Jewell
C. Canjar
D. ?

For a bench rifle, I would choose the Jewel but it isn't the best choice for a field gun IMO. The Jewel is not tolerant of dirt or trash.
Calvin Elite would be a good all round choice.

I would think the intended use would help you decide on a trigger. I have a Hart barrel on a Rem. 600 which still sports the original Rem. trigger. It is my wife's deer rifle. There is and continues to be a lot of talk about the Remington (Walker) trigger. I believe it to be a good, safe trigger if ADJUSTED PROPERLY and kept reasonably clean.

I have both a Jewell and Timney trigger on 700 actions. I like both of them. Can't go wrong with either of them.

Kipplinger (sp) makes a nice single set for the older 700 that Brownell’s sold for years. I have 3 on my 700 long distance rifles.
