Hello All -

Bought my first AR a while back, when they were on sell. I love this rifle, but I have to admit the trigger seems a bit gritty. So far I've shot about 700 rounds through it and the trigger hasn't changed much (I was hoping it just had to break-in a bit to smooth out).

does anyone have a suggestion? should I polish the trigger/hammer surfaces? Buy a different drop in trigger?

I'm hoping for something with a lighter/smoother pull. Not necessarily 2 stage, just light and smooth.

TIA

Shoot another couple thousand rounds;).

If still not happy, buy a used RRA two stage. Keep an eye out on Glocktalk and AR15.com for new/used take-off parts.

Don't worry, this thing will pass the 10k round count fast LOL

what do you think of the McCormic single stage super match? I'm looking to get the trigger pull down to 3-4 ounces, right now it feels like 15...

I recommend JP fire control parts. Unike the McCormick, the JP trigger/hammer combo is fully adjustable. It does require a minimal amount of fitting but is very easy to install. You can see it here. They also make a drop in version that is a little on the pricey side but worth every cent.
