Please pardon my daring ignorance, but what exactly are those three dots I always see on the finish of the TRR8? They look horrible...

It's nothing a dab of paint or a swipe with a permanent marker wont fix.

Sorry, I'm a noob. What purpose do they serve?

The stuff that moves that makes it go pop rotate on those pins.

#1 is the pin for the cylinder stop.
#2 is the trigger pin.
#3 is the hammer pin.
