My oldest daughter (wrapping up law school at Columbia) is a bona-fide liberal, but I love her anyway. Over the XMas holiday I was bound and determined to get her to the range to have some fun. So as not to scare her, I brought the Walther P22 and my trusty Ruger P89 as the guns of choice. At first she was a bit hesitant to even hold one of the guns, but by the end of the first magazine I saw the gleam in her eye. We blew through about 300 rounds during the visit (90% by her) and she told me she honestly enjoyed the experience and wants to go again on the next visit. As she lives in NYC, handguns aren't really practical for her but I'll make sure to get her back for some more shooting everytime she's in the area.

BTW, my other 2 kids are both veterans and love guns and shooting...

Glad to hear it. Keep it up.

May I ask, why did you wait until now? I mean, weren't there occasions in the past to introduce her to firearms?

Not really. I only just started getting back into the shooting arena recently and she's been in college like forever (this will be her 4th degree)...

I am trying to work on my Son's girlfriend who is scared to death of guns as she'll probably end up being my Daughter-in-law. She didn't even like the fact that my son kept his shotgun in his Appt when she was living with him at College, but to his credit he told her "Look, it is my shotgun, it's a hobby I enjoy, and I don't keep it loaded so it's staying here". Trying to get her to come to the range some day and shoot the Ruger 10/22.

No, I haven't heard anything about the job in Huntsville yet. Not really surprised though as the federal government basically shuts down XMas and New Years week. Really hoping to hear something next week though...
