TV debate on guns

oh god mtv . hopefully there are some good pro-gun people on it. i wouldnt be surprised if the show is anti-gun biased and then ends with a video of g-unit rapping about their new favorite guns.

My gut tells me that MTV will be very anti-gun, as they're A) "the media", and B) cater to young people, who tend to not have had their ultra-liberal fantasies beaten out of them by the real world yet. If there was more notice, I would have volunteered, but I would expect to be ambushed on the show. I hope some people can participate, and I hope they can speak in compact sound bites that can't be readily edited to make them look like they're saying something they aren't.

Well, it's MTV...and SoKal...and there's a bunch of teenagers and college students who have never paid any taxes...

:uhoh:

Seriously, I'd be willing to bet my lunch tomorrow that most of the people in that room, participating in the debate, have never held a gun in their lives. They no nothing about the 70 YEARS of gun control legislation on the books (and that's just at the federal level...), they no nothing about firearms technology, and they have skewed images of guns and gun owners from popular culture.

Overturning that sort of bias can't be done in a fun half-hour show complete with periodic breaks for clothing and electronics conglomerates.
