I must add to the many threads on here showing the amazing work of Hakan Pek. I hate synthetic grips on 1911s, and when I saw what Hakan could do I knew I had to retain him to dress some of my pistols. I started with my two favorite factory 1911s as they came with ugly rubber grips. Below you can see the results. The .38 Super Pro Carry is wearing Hakan's "Shadow" pattern grips. I thought the contrast was very attractive between light and dark. The Shadow area also adds some friction for gripping. The Kimber 10mm is wearing a set of his Flame Ambione wood grips. I love the varied patterns in that wood. If you visit his web site you can see that the Ambione panels never have any two alike.
I must tell you that if you want a set of custom wood for your 1911, Hakan is the man to see. His prices are excellent, work is of the finest quality, and a pleasure to do business with. A craftsman, a gentleman, and an artist.
