Ok, that audio clip is priceless. I was laughing the whole time.

My only question is why would the 911 operator tell her to stop shooting the guy?

hahahha

yes, that clip was absolutely priceless. Kinda annoying 911 operator, but wow, that granny is a tough old bird. The line about blowing the bstrds balls away.... oh my gosh, I'm still laughing. :D

...and noticed there were muddy footprints leading into her house,...

Must have watered her yard. I have 400# calves that have never seen a rain.

I hated the 911 operator on the tape. Obviously a blissninny.
There is a man in the house, Grandma shoots him, he's still moving (read: still a threat). 911 operator says "Did she shoot him again? Tell her not to shoot anymore."

Idiot.

If you haven't heard the tape it's worth a signing up to listen. Both eye opening and hilarious.

I wish she would be a bit more circumspect. Even if she's not charged, she could still get nailed with a civil suit. Some of the stuff I heard her say on the radio this morning wasn't very smart, IMO.

911 Operator: Did she just shoot him again? You have got to tell her to stop shooting him. The police are on the way. :what:

ROFLMAO. So, a 66 year old granny is struggling hand to hand for her life with a full grown male, and she's supposed to just "stop shooting him", because the cops are somewhere nearby?

Yeah, I guess the 911 operator was thinking she was shooting him gratuitously, but maybe she needs to ask whether additional shooting is warranted or not, rather than kneejerking into "shooting bad" mode.

That was awesome news reporting. The grandmother made me laugh with her description. The guy definitely messed with the wrong person.

I am very proud of this woman and I was happy to see Hannity saluting her. He chastised the anti-gun crowd in one of his statements during the story... that was refreshing to see on a major news channel. I was also happy to see someone with no qualms about protecting themself. I am glad it turned out the way it did... clearing a house by yourself is not something to be taken lightly!

Still, I was surprised to see her commenting on the case without a lawyer present. If one was there, I am sure he would have asked her to keep some of the details to herself. Has she already been cleared? I ask because some of the things she said would have had a New York attorney licking their chops.

What do I mean? Well she said she "decided" to shoot him in the leg because she didn't want to kill him (she had time to decide where to shoot him). She also said something about shooting him again because he wasn't submitting to her (didn't say he was trying to attack her though). I don't mean to sound negitive, it just seems that the way she is blabbing on tv, in almost a bragging way, could hurt her case.

I guess the media felt okay about calling her a hero because she was 66 years old and a woman and the guy in her house was already running from the cops. It is also okay because she lives in Texas (Don't mess with Texas!) where the laws are far different from where I live. Out here in NY... she probably would have been cuffed and hauled to jail immediately, forced to pay a settlement after being sued by the intruder, and lost her rights to own a handgun.

People protect themselves every day like this woman did... we need to hear more stories like this on the major media networks... maybe it would make the crooks think twice.

ah, The Great Equalizer...

Hey,

That's what I'm talkin' about!

I know it's not right to say this, because I really hate these dead beat criminals, but I wish incidents like this only happened to the anti-gunners...

:)

My Grandmother carried an old Colt Detective's Special in her apron for years while taking Grandpa's deposit from his gas station to the bank. GO GRANNY GO!

"The police are on the way" Remember that the courts have ruled that the police have the duty to protect the society at large NOT to protect individuals !!!! That reminds me of Stan Friebergs version of Little Red Riding Hood where she pulls a 45 out of her basket and shoots the wolf .I'll bet her grandchildren ask , for their bedtime stores , tell us again how you shot the BG !

"you know what made me not smaller than him? my .38!"
And that is the bottom line to this entire 2nd ammendment thing.

Job well done, but I too am a bit uncomfortable with the way she opened up to the media. I hope nothing bad comes of that for her in a civil case or something.

ah, The Great Equalizer..

I don't remember who said it but I'll quote it anyhow. "And that's what makes the .38 Special"

Since they've already said it was self defense, does anyone know if she'll get her weapon back?
