So wanted to let folks in the Colorado Springs area, and from what it sounded like, there are others in other cities, about U.S. Virtual Training Center.

For the prior service guys, think of it as the new and improved EST 2000. It's cordless and uses co2 for recoil.

For everyone else: I found out about it from another FNRA commitee member, so I had to chek it out, actually used my wife's birthday as an excuse. It's like the name says:virtual. Think duck hunter for the nintendo, but cooler. They have AR's glock 17, S&W M&P, and mossberg 500 to use in the simulator. You get a private session in a room with a projector screen and you tell the guy running the simulator what you want to do. Youo want to work on marksmanship, cool. You want to run ccw scenarios, cool. You want to do shoothouse/ swat/ coolguy stuff, cool. You want to do shootem ups with hordes of bdguys, cool. The firearms, with the exception of the shotgun, use co2 to make slides/bolt operate although not close to full power recoil. You can move, hide, seek cover anywhere in the room. The guy actually told me I could even walk out the door and shoot from outside the room if I wanted. The weapons use a replacement barrel with a laser, otherwise they're real guns with just a barrel swap. They even have .357 laser rounds if you want to bring in a revolver. That's the only personal gun you can bring in to train with, however. These guys are pretty cool and laid back, they'll help if you need/ want it with stance/grip, etc.

The scenarios can be changed depending on your reactions/responses to situations. For example, I did a bank scenario standing in line, guy walks in pulls a gun on teller, because I backed out and called cops, guy got money, another run through I drew and guy dropped gun and surrendered, and another he shot the teller and jumped the counter. The simulator guy will change the script depending upon your actions. You can also do shoot/don't shoot scenarios, moving targets, and IDPA practice as well as Bianchi practise. Soon, they should have some other competition practise as well.
I think this a great way to be able to practise/train without having to spend money on ammo, and I don't know of any ranges around here that allow draw and fire, shoot on the move, or other dynamic shooting.
