Does anyone know what is going on with Uberti, Cimarron, Beretta/Benelli. I mean, with respect to the manufacture and availability of Uberti firearms.

I have been told by two different dealers that they cannot get any response from Uberti or Cimarron. No one answers the telephone, no one responds to requests for contact. A dealer told me he hasn't been getting some Uberti firearms from Cimarron with the "Cimarron-Fredericksburg, Texas" stamp on the barrel, and, although they come in a Cimarron box, there is no way to be sure they are actual Cimarron processed Ubertis. I understood that Cimarron had a pretty exacting inspection and selection process for guns they accepted from Uberti and that was the major reason I wanted to buy a "Cimarron" firearm, although the basic Uberti is supposed to be a high-quality firearm, and is available through numerous sources.

I understand that Beretta/Benelli bought out Uberti, but what does that mean with respect to the continued manufacture/availability of "Uberti" firearms?

Any information or insight would be appreciated. I want to purchase a Uberti BP revolver (or several), but want to know what I am getting, if possible.

Call or e-mail Stoger Industries. They are the main distributors-importers of Uberti products.

Problems

I called a few different Cimarron dealers, to include Texas Jacks, and you can't really buy a Cimarron in various models right now. I did purchase a Cimarron 1858 in the millennium finish yesterday from Texas Jacks, because that's all they had in the 1858, plus it was on sale. I've never seen one in flat black finish, but I was told it's like Gun-kote or duracoat. I bought two Piettas recently, and they were both better quality than my two Ubertis, but still skepticle about Piettas. A few of the places I called on the net are expecting shippments around the 12th and 15th of
this month.
