Uberti El Patron going back-UPDATE

On the 42nd shot of its life, my new 45 Colt Uberti El Patron Competition will probably be going back for repair. Had a good group going with the first 3 shots, the 4th went wide left, the 5 even wider left and as I lined up for the 6th, I noticed there was no front sight. Popped right off! Never did find it. I'm gonna call the customer service center Tuesday and see if I can get an RA to return it. Chaps my butt that shipping to the facility and insurance is on me if I read the warranty page correctly. It will be repaired and sent prepaid back to me though. Dang!!!!

Even with the best of guns, you have a goof-up every now and then.
I've owned two El Patron Ubertis, and both have been awesome. Still have the LongColt bird head. Uberti will surely make it right for you.

Mine has such a heavy bluing on it that, after a couple hundred rounds, there is STILL no turn ring visible on the cylinder. The 3" barrel is just as accurate for me as any 5" I've shot.

Yeah , that would make me mad too .

Lets us know how they handle it .

It's not "heavy bluing". As long as you never lower the hammer from the half cock notch, it'll never get a turn line.

Sorry to hear that about your El Patron. My experiences so far with Uberti has been very positive in regards to the overall construction and the fit and finish of the guns.

My Uberti 1873 rifle was a foot high and a foot to the left at 50 yards out of the box. Both sights were tight and centered. I moved the sights more than I should have needed to shoot that distance. The rifle is very pretty, but I am disappointed at the accuracy. The same trip to the range I shot a new base model Marlin 336W out of the box that had a 2" group with open sights at the same distance. Guess which rifle I like now?

A singular problem example is really statistically insignificant. Being off by a foot is not an accuracy problem. Sounds like all it needed was a slightly taller front sight and a little sight drifting. A problem easily remedied. My Uberti 1873 Deluxe Sporting Rifle puts every load I've tried in it into an inch at 50yds.

I did indeed drift the rear sight a little off center to move the impact on the target. The rear sight is already set at the lowest position. I have not yet bought anything for the front site. No it isn't impossible to fix, but I expected better for the price point of that rifle.

Speaking of drift, I think we're talking about an El Patron, of which my Belizza is one of my most prized possessions.

I called Uberti, actually Beretta/Benneli/Stoeger, in Maryland this morning. I described the problem and they said "No Problem" please give us your serial number. I did and the young man (Joe) said, "I'll send you a UPS 2nd day air shipping label so you can ship it back. OR...you can take it to the nearest dealer and they will ship it back." We will repair or replace it and send it straight back to you. He then gave me an RA number to include in the box with the revolver and to use as a tracking number if I need to call about the repairs. He went on to apologize for the inconvenience and for the product failure. Then he made sure I understood that none of this would cost me a penny. Wanted to know if there was anything else he could do for me. I thanked him and hung up. Ten minutes later I was printing out the return, pre-paid shipping label. He never once even hinted that I would need to pay for shipping to them. I'm impressed with, and grateful for, the CS I received this morning.
