Ultra Accurate .45 loads with Blue Dot

That was I, I confess! I think of it as Uniques Big Brother:)

Blue Dot works fine at near or max loads. Lighter loads tend to get spiky pressure. and leave particles around. I am not a clean/dirty powder kinda guy. I clean my guns no matter what. Most of my guns are stainless and regardless they always look dirty!

I use BD in max 357 loads and some 10mm loads, That said I still think there are better powders out there but that's why there are so many. Everyone has their preference,

Back to the 45 Colt. JMO but I like HP38 and Unique It's a SW M 25 MT Gun. If I want more power Scotty I load up the 44 Mag. Had a 460 SW but that was insane and there are no more Water Buffalo around so I have no use for it!:)
Haha I hear you on the .460 thing. I've never owned a .460 or 500 as I don't feel any need either. I did have a .480 Ruger at one point but I let that get away in a trade for lack of readily available factory ammo at the time. Honestly the .480 wasn't even as bad recoil as a hot .454 Casull though, mild shooter for what it can do.
(325gr XTP @ ~1400fps factory loads)
Anyway I agree the BD in lower charges did not work very well. Have you tried LilGun in either .357/.44/.45C yet? It is proving itself to be an excellent magnum powder in my testing for sure. Better than my old magnum stand by H110 in all 3 calibers I mentioned. As for cleanliness, I'm with you as well. It doesn't matter if I shoot one magazine/cylinder from a gun, it gets cleaned every time I shoot it. I got started Shooting with black powder guns; so if you didn't clean them after a range session you were in trouble. Kind of glad though because now it's second nature for me to keep every single firearm I own properly cleaned, serviced and lubed at any given time.
