Ill agree, it doesnt shoot better. However, my press thanks me, I never have to clean it because of crap from dry tumbling, corncob, walnut, dirt, whatever. My dies thank me, they never get scratched. If you are worried that much about galling, then why arent you lubing?
I never worry about any of that stuff either. Something is wrong if you do. And there is no need to lube pistol brass when you dry tumble w/ Nu-Finish. Lubing pistol cases is another added step that's not needed w/ carbide dies.
Everyone is free to clean however they want to. For decades all reloaders did was wipe the cases off w/ a rag. The progression to what we have now is a good thing. But I personally don't see the benefit if it doesn't make it shoot any better. About the only benefit I see to SS cleaning is no dust. But you do end up w/ contaminated water that you shouldn't be dumping down the drain.
