5.5 Silhouette. bit cleaner than lower charge but still scorched and some debris. Didn't seem particularly accurate (but I wasn't wearing my prescription glasses... so...)

4.4 Bullseye. Seemed about the same as 4.6 Unique, with more flash and recoil. Accuracy similar to 5.5 Silhouette.

None of my current powders appear to offer any benefit in cleanliness to 4.6 Unique. Guess I'll stick with Unique til I run out.

5.5 Longshot looks to be a pretty good load. About the same as similar power (mid to high) loads of AutoComp, Silhouette, Power Pistol. Not as flashy as PP but does have some flash. Recoil a bit stronger than 4.6 unique. Not sharp or uncomfortable. Hits where I want it.

Not super clean, with some debris and scorched cases, but nothing I've tried so far is.

5.9 (close to max load) has less/almost no unburned stuff but still scorched cases a bit. Didn't seem to hit where I wanted it... I had to hold higher than I like.

I'll stick with 5.5 if I need to use it for 9mm.

If any ever shows up again give Universal Clays a try if you haven't already. Meters well and is clean.
I use the Lee disk so I loaded 3.7, 4.0 and went up to 4.3. (.40, .43 and .46 disks)
I prefered 3.7, more accurate than 4 soft shooting. No pressure signs at 4.3 but that is the listed max for lead. 3.7 is my favorite 9mm load with the MBC cone.

I noticed the measuring "issue" with Unique as well. I ended up using a much larger disk than I expected. Listed VMD .1092 measured for my jars .132
With .132 VMD 4.3 gr = .57 disk, 4.6 = .61
if the VMD was .1092 (as listed) 4.3gr would be the .46 disk, about the same as Bullseye.
The listed VMD is way off in my experience, more so than anything else I have used. I threw charges and weighed on 2 scales a bunch to convince myself that it was that far off the fist time I loaded it.

Nice shooting Quags. Looks like it is working for you.

Now if only Unique would meter for me around 4grs in the Pro Disk and was cleaner it would be like well Universal. :p

It does seem to meter better once I get up to .45 ACP charge levels.
Dumped some Unique out of my measure into a funnel to put back into the jar last night.
Came back after a minute an it still was in the funnel! Tap Tap to make it flow.......from the funnel!

Dudedog...

I had the same issues as you when trying to find the right disk. I kept moving up disk sizes until I found the disk that dropped the amount I was looking for. .66 disk for 4.6 grains of Unique when loading xtreme 124 gr CPRN bullets and .53 disk for 4.0 grains for loading MBC 124 gr LRN bullets. Not even close to the Lee chart. I'm not loading for precision so I do see +/- swings in charges. I'm not close to any max charges so I don't worry. Guns go bang every time and accurate enough for me. I can kill paper with the best of them........

I have been looking for over 2 years... haven't seen any. I will definitely buy a bunch if/when I see it.

Yep, I have to go a full grain higher on the chart to get the right charge of Unique. I correct the chart and write what my discs actually throw on the chart for future reference. No powder has been even close to as inaccurate as Unique.

All of the winchester and hodgdon powders I've tried lately have been exactly right or within .1 grain of the chart.

Possibly final follow-up for future reference and for those (none) interested:

124 xtreme plated RN, 1.15" mixed brass, CCI SPP

4.2 HP-38 good load, mild scorching, considerable debris. Accurate in SIG P226. Same with 4.5 grains HP-38 (max or close to max depending on which manual you consult). Some mild case bulging, primers look fine. Recoil stronger than 4.6 unique baseline but not sharp. Not as accurate in beretta. Still a lot of debris.
