Upgrading from a Remington 1911R1, next?

I have the exact same 1911 R1 and have no issues that would make me give it up for something new. It functions great. To make a change just to make a change is up to you. Good luck.

Here is my latest acquisition, a Ruger SR1911, carefully selected as you know ;)
I have just received it, not even fired yet, just unpacked and slightly oiled, it comes dry.

I am not sure about the micarta grips, I will probably put on American walnut, hand crafted in Germany (the last one, new old stock).

All firearms pass inspection, firing and pressure test at Saint Etienne, it has been proofed of course https://www.banc-epreuve.fr/en/small-arm-proof/

I like how the tight fitting makes nearly zero free play, just the minimum. It is stainless steel with black nitride finish, hopefully it will show nice wear marks, plus me being an idiot for sure ;)

Compared to my Remington R1 (20 years older), this SR1911 is a tad more simple, fewer parts certainly because of the 70 series inspiration. I appreciate this.

Voilà ma belle :
