So, I am a self confessed novice (not quite as bad a a noob right?). I have had my G23 for about a year now and like it well enough. However, I was thinking of swapping out for a:

Competition Trigger Spring
http://glockparts.com/?mainURL=/store/item/gzng/Trigger_Springs/Competition_Trigger_Spring.html

and a

LWD 3.5lb connector
http://glockparts.com/?mainURL=/store/item/ghbk/Connectors/LWD_Connector_-_3_5lb.html

I realize these aren't too much different. But do you guys think there would be any improvement? The descriptions seem to say so. This setup wouldnt inhibit my gun would it? If that's the case, would I need to upgrade anything else to make it work?

there you go, fun reading for the evening. prices range from 25 cents to over 200. I also hear this guy named charlie vanek will give you something approaching a decent 1911 trigger for around $200.

personally I have only done the connector and the polish job. The spring kit is in the mail. the connector gives you a lighter pull, but it's still long. and still around 4 lbs.

What's your goal? Are you trying to build a race gun or something for competition? Or is this a carry gun? What are you trying to accomplish by lightening up the trigger? Just curious if you're attempting to fix something that isn't neccessarily broken... :)

That is supposed to be the sweet setup. 3.5+comp spring. The comp spring is supposed to get rid of some free play in the trigger to. I don't see how? Don't forget to do the $.25 trigger polish.

Parts are cheap so order a ny-1 spring as well so you can try 3.5+ny1 spring. Supposed to be as stiff as stock with crisper break with the 3.5+ny1.

I just got that advice from someone who shoots alot of Glocks in competition and carrys them with 3.5+comp spring as well. The Lone wolf connector is suposed to be one of the best out there. (yes, better than stock) I can't wait to try this myself.

My goal here is to eliminate some of the creep, and create a more crisp pull/break. Now, ZERODEFECT, you mentioned getting a $.25 trigger polish, how do I do that, just take it in to the local gunsmith?

Naaaw, they just call it that. I'll see if I can dig up a link, someone should beat me to it though. I saw a post that had exactly which part to polish and where. It was a good disassembly manual to.

All it is is using a polish like flitz and a q-tip to polish certain parts of the trigger and connector edges.

I plan on putting the q-tip in a dremel to speed things up.

AHA FOUND IT, TRY THIS....

those links I posed above talk all about the 25 cent job, various trigger combos, how and where to mod the glock to take out overtravel, pretravel, creep. and even a neato flash of the gun working. you can make various bits invisible to see how the gun actually functions.

First off, if you carry this pistol you need to rethink all this and start saving for a range gun. If this is mainly a range pistol and also sets on the nightstand, some tinkering is probably fine.

I recently installed a LWD connector and this spring kit:

http://www.glockwarehouse.com/spring_kit_p/zt-spr-kit.htm

It requires complete disassembly of your pistol, but for a Glock that is no chore at all. I spent far more time cleaning the stripped pistol than I did installing the new parts. Anyway, it didn't really reduce the trigger pull distance or provide a crisp break that much. But it did greatly reduce the effort required to pull the trigger.

Once I took it apart (it's a used gun) I found a NY trigger spring (the olive one). I'll never want another one of those in any Glock I ever own. The trigger pull was extremely heavy, with a big crunchy horrible break at the end of it. I can't possibly imagine that leaving that spring in there and replacing the connector would have been anything that I would like. I actually wanted a drop-in competition trigger kit from Vanek or Glockworx, but I decided to try the $20 mods first. I'm glad I did, I can totally live with the way it is now.

Hope this helps. Results may vary.

I like the 3.5+NY1 myself. Gets rid of a bit of that..as they say "smooshyness".

I've heard of this combo and that it doesn't lighten the trigger as much as it smooths it out and may try it.

I don't think a 3.5# trigger belongs in a carry gun at all. Can make a difference in a competition gun. If you can't shoot that well 1 1/2 pounds of trigger is not going to make you a pistolero.

I retired almost 4 years ago and we were required to have the 8# trigger in any Glock we carried. The Glocks I have bought since have the standard trigger but the 26 I carried at work still has the 8# and I can shoot as well with it as anything else.

Smooth is much more important than light.

I'm not really concerned with smoothing it out or easing the #'s. Most concerned with getting rid of over travel.

Here's what I put on my G30SF.

Developed by Glockmeister.

Complete Stock Competition Trigger Package [GMUCSTP] $62.00
Complete Stock Competition Trigger Package

Glockmeister has put together a package that will allow the Glock enthusiast to add performance to his/her gun with a minimum of effort. With the kit, the shooter will be able to switch between their competition trigger set-up and their stock set-up with the removal of a couple of pins. The kit includes the stock competition trigger kit mounted in a new trigger mechanism housing (for the specific caliber) with a hand selected trigger with trigger bar assembly - completing the drop-in package. This is a complete package, so there is no juggling of small parts necessary. A major benefit to this package is the fact that you retain the carry parts for replacement if you sell the gun or periodically use the gun for carry. Additionally, the gun does not have to go out to an Armorer for an extended period of time for modification. The unit is tested for perfection - it is one of our finest pieces of work.

I had it installed by their Glock armorer.
He fluffed and buffed all my internals at no charge!! :D
The result is one sweet Glock!!
