UPS does not ship firearm anymore unless FFL

Looks like I made it just under the wire. I shipped 4 guns this year, all rimfire rifles. One I shipped twice for repair. I would cuss a blue streak if it was permitted:(

In massive attack on Second Amendment, woke UPS bows to Democrats request to cease shipping firearms
WASHINGTON D.C.- Democrats are making yet another step towards corporate gun control by requesting that shipping giants cease shipping firearms.

U.S Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Ct), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Edward Markey (D-MA), and Christopher Murphy (D-Ct) signed a letter that was sent to at least 27 carriers across the United States and Canada. . . .

Fedex posts a half billion in sales losses.
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/09/16/business/fedex-warning/index.html
Hahaha haha haha
I would like to think we played a small part in that.
Ups probably seeing a similar loss.
I said "posts" a half billion in sales losses, should have been "predicts" a half billion in sales losses. Usually predictions like this are overly optimistic, hopefully it will be far worse.
I know everything I can ship usps I am shipping usps.

Well I used UPS for the first time in a very long time. I didn't want to. Last time was well before my last post there on September 30.
I used to go to UPS 2 to 6 times a week.
What I don't understand is why so many people put up flack trying to cover for UPS.
I have been hearing since 2015 or 2016 disturbing rumors that they were going woke.
Well all the people who said the brownells letter "was fake" it's "misinformation" and that ups isn't trying to make firearms related shipments more difficult are all real quiet now...
The situation has only gone from bad to worse.

I received a bill I mailed via my local Post Office back two months after I mailed it from our County Post Master. Apparently they had a robbery/inside heist at my local branch,
all I received back was the envelope, torn open and the statement. The check, had of course, been taken. Had to go to the local PD and while there, found out that the same
post office was robbed again, this time with guys with ski masks and guns and all they took were those big canvas wheeled carts full of mail.

I wouldn't mail a long gun via USPS anymore since my local branch was robbed two times in less than two weeks. America in 2022 is just doing great, isn't it?

Go Woke, Go Broke!

I’m trying not to use them anymore. But if someone is shipping UPS, nothing I can do. I did a RMA thur UPS the other day. but not on my dime.

also cancel my Paypal
and will be used local CASH as much as possible

Wow people robbing post offices again?
With people robbing post offices and the legislative branch ignoring supreme Court decisions it's like we have regressed to the 1830s.

Seems like it is the wild west. Except the Sheriff doesn't want us to have our six shooters.

UPS folds on their woke gun policy. I say don't forget, and don't forgive. I'm still using USPS. Since the only thing they respond to is money or the lack thereof, if this pain continues maybe one or 2 of the hier ups will get fired and they won't touch the gun policy with a 10 foot pole until everyone in the top rotates through as that can take up to 20 to 30 years.

UPS folds on their woke gun policy.
No, they haven't.
If you read that UPS letter at Ammoland instead of watching videos from a blithering idiot you would know why the video link you posted is farcical.

Statement from UPS December 8, 2022, to AmmoLand News
Your recent article about UPS tracking firearm shipments contains some information that we feel needs to be corrected. While we were not contacted for a statement, UPS would like to provide information in response to the piece and ask that you update your story. Thanks so much.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (“BATFE”) issued a final rule that expanded the definition of parts that qualify as a firearm “frame” or “receiver” and thus as a firearm. UPS updated its policy to reflect the rule that states UPS cannot accept firearms without serial numbers or any partially complete, disassembled, or nonfunctional frames or receivers that qualify as “frames” or “receivers,” as defined by the new BATFE regulations, that have not been identified and given a serial number in compliance with federal law. UPS does not track gun purchases, nor does it have access to customer data that would detail such information. UPS has not, nor will it ever, track the purchase of guns. In addition, UPS would only provide information about firearm shipments when required to do so by law, such as in response to a subpoena or warrant.

This year, UPS updated the firearm products policy as a result of increased regulation of firearms and certain firearm parts, including complying with federal regulations that went into effect in August 2022. UPS also updated its policy to bring firearm products shippers in line with other highly regulated goods shippers by requiring the shipper to enter into an approved firearm products shipping agreement and provide copies of applicable licenses. These changes help ensure that shippers of firearm products have the appropriate expertise to move these items safely, securely and lawfully through our network.

In addition, UPS would only request shipper information to resolve compliance issues, and the shipping agreement permits the shipper to identify when a request would require information that the shipper believes it cannot lawfully provide and suggest alternate information sufficient to resolve the compliance question.

Thanks for your help,

Michelle

1. That UPS response just reiterates their current firearm shipping policy.
2. UPS didn't fold.
3. Your blithering idiot lacks reading comprehension.

I'm wondering if THR just needs a "sticky" on the Common carrier restrictions.
That way we'd not have to chew this same bone once a week, every week.
I wrote a "How to Ship Firearms" post a decade ago that included what each carrier required. It was stickied and later buried in the Legal forum where no one can find it.

I would be happy to update that, but its locked and I can't edit or update.

You're right, the answer to the question "Did UPS just fold?" is "No".

UPS' letter contains the line "This year, UPS updated the firearm products policy as a result of increased regulation of firearms and certain firearm parts, including complying with federal regulations that went into effect in August 2022."

Does anyone know what the "August 2022 federal regulations" are?
