UPS won't ship my firearm. What can I do, if anything?

"I have always shipped U.S.P.S. for that reason and some others, you are at the mercy of corperate policy when you use them. Also you never know who will be handling your items and in what manner (long boxes tend to get thrown like spears, this from a freind who has worked for UPS and FEDEX).

I have shipped dozens of guns at the post office and have never had an issue, they are much cheaper, faster when you use priority mail, and usually treat your packages better, but that's just my opinion."

You do realize it is illegal for mere mortals to use the USPS to ship handguns (long guns are ok). http://www.cgwgun.com/shipping/usps.aspx

These people (UPS & Fedex ) are federally licensed to handle interstate commerce. They enjoy a bit of a "monopoly" because of it. A complaint can be lodged with the US Dept of Commerce if you feel your rights are being screwed with. When gun laws/shipping rules are prescribed to limit us to HAVE to use commercial carriers BY BATFE, then those carriers should have to operate within the fed guidlines. Refusal opens them up to litigation.

Good thing I don't often sell guns at all. What a PITA to ship these things!
Again, you were victimized by the employee's personal opinions. If you desire UPS to shape up, you'll need to call the management, as I suggested earlier.

I believe he does.

This is a pistol and so I don't believe USPS will ship it without an FFL. I know that they will ship long arms and ammunition too, but pistols is another story.

Why folks insist on linking offsite, I don't know. We have a wonderful sticky here: Shipping a gun - THR
