a friend has a blued mini 14 ranch he wants to sell. i have the chance to get it tomorrow. i've seen it before. it appears to basically be in like new condition. he has never fired it since he bought it. he got it from a friend of his, and i have no idea how many rounds that guy put through it. it can't be that old of a model...maybe 4 or 5 years old. he has some sort of remington scope on it as well. i didn't notice specifically which model of scope...it works though. he has a cheapo 20 and a cheapo 30 round mag each with it, and the ruger 5 round. he wants 440. get it quick? opinions....

That's a ok price for a ranch rifle. Buy it if you want one, just make sure you want a Mini 14.

I have a non ranch series 181 oldie and I've turned down $400 for it ( but there are lots of genuine magazines with it)

The scope and crappy mags add no value to the deal. I wouldn't pay over $350 for any used Mini, and then only if I had a friend to give it to as a joke.

the scope and mags dont add much value. even so, it is a pretty bad price

pass on it unless you really, really, really want a mini-14.
As others have said, cheap mags and a cheap scope aren't worth much.
I sold several new mags like that (from a trade) for $4-6 each only after they had been listed for a week or 2. I don't think the blued mini-14s sell for as much as the stainless ones.

I'd pass on the deal myself and find another $200 to put with the $440 and build an AR instead.
