Local pawn shop has one in good shape for 350.00. That the pistol, standard finish, w/ 2 mags and the case. Has the Glock type trigger. I checked the bore, good to go.

Decent price for one of these? This is pre-haggle tagged price.

I have the SR9C. Good gun.

I understand the early full size SR9 had a bad triger. It's been improved on the later models.

At the local gun store the new SR9 is selling for $419.

Being you found it at "fleese shop" that is too high a price to pay.

I believe, but am not positive, as I'm looking into one of these myself. The D shaped mag release was part of the most recent upgrade they did along with a better trigger system.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal. You might offer $300 & see if you can get it for $325.

Bud's gunshop online has been selling new ones for $398 shipped. So if you ordered one from them you could get it for that plus whatever a transfer would run you there. The D shaped magazine release & 331 serial number prefix is an indicator of when they changed the trigger to make it better.

Fair, not great. A new SR9 can be had in your hands after shipping+transfer fee for $400 - $425.

So i got back over to have another look at that SR9 today. It is a serial number 330-* , and not a 331. It also has the round mag release, but the trigger is a Glock blade type, so I am guessing this piece was returned to Ruger for the upgrade.

Also got the price down to 320.00, but not taken the plunge yet.

Prior to stopping by this shop I went to another local dealer to have a look at his offerings. No new Rugers to handle, but there was a new Smith SD9 that I handled. Good looking sights, good grip in hand, trigger was a little lighter / crisper than the Ruger. I guess a good representation of a polymer handgun. *I am a wood & steel revolver guy testing new waters here.

Anybody here have any opinions about the Smith & Wesson SD9? This was a new gun, tagged at 399.

Hmmmm, no takers on my follow up. *sniff*

So the deed is done. Did not buy the pawn shop SR, nor did I buy the Smith SD9. Went to a third shop today and scored a new SR9 (on order anyway) for 400 out the door. Should remedy any issue of recalled serial number / replaced trigger group.

Did get to handle a new Sig250 while I was there. Long DAO trigger pull, but nice and steady. One mag per piece put me off though.

Anyway, hope to pick up the new SR tomorrow or Friday.

Nice. I like the SR9 a lot. I feel like it competes very well against the Glock/M&P/XD but for about $100 less. And unlike the Glock and XD, it's made in USA if that matters to you.

Good deal too at $400 OTD.

I bought a used SR9 with stainless/polished slide and three mags, I think it was on this forum, for $350 shipped.

The trigger was one of the early ones, and kinda crappy. Added the Ghost Products trigger which made a profound change to (and improved) the trigger.

It's a fine gun, and well worth what I have in it. (Mine came with a holster that I sold for $35...)

I understand that the SR9c trigger is much, much better -- and laster versions of the SR9 apparently have the improved trigger, too.

I think it is like a more-user friendly Glock 19 -- but with more pieces. (I think there are more parts in the firing assembly (striker, safety, etc.) than in the entire Glock gun.)

If its got a good trigger, $350 seems reasonable. (I spent $20 for the Ghost Trigger connector parts, and $45 to get a local gunsmith to install them -- as it's complicated... I normally do stuff like that myself, but after following the Ghost instructions on their website, and examining everything, I chickened out.)

That is always a plus in my book. Of the items in my current inventory, 7 are made or assembled [*] in the USA (Remington, Marlin, Ruger, *Vector). The SR9 will bump that up to 8 made in USA pieces. 3 of the 4 "foreigners" are antique Finn rifles, and the fourth a Cimarron badged Uberti.

Can't say I do this with cars, but I do factor in buying American when looking for firearms.

Up to you, but you can get a new one for just over four-hundred bucks, I have even seen them at one shop listed at $389.00.

I paid $400 a year ago for my SR9. It's a D mag model but I didn't like the trigger and installed the Ghost Rocket trigger bar which really improved the feel of the trigger. Wasn't all that difficult, took about an hour. This is a fine nice handling pistol, recoil is very mild with little muzzle flip. It fits my hand very well. The SR9c wasn't out when I got my SR9. I have an SR40c too and if the SR9c had been out when I got mine I'd have opted for the smaller pistol. The only thing I don't like as much about the SR9 is the difficulty of concealment compared to the C model.
