I was looking at a used SIG 226 and the frame had limited wear, slide alot of wear. Gun fired fine. The serial numbers on the frame and slide do not match. ANy suggestions as to why this is?
A crack had developed at the rear portion of the right front frame rail of my first P226. I hd sent the entire gun to SIG and they had sent me an entire new gun.
My guesses are that possibly something broke in either the slide (assembly) or the frame and the broken part was replace but not the other. Another is that is was possibly a gun from an organization and the frames and slides of at least two guns got switched.
Does the serial number of the barrel match either the slide's or frame's?
