please only post if you have the gun or have shot it personally, please post your thoughts on it. what ammo you have used etc.

Thanks.....

Tracker .44

I got the five shot with a 4" barrell, it's worked great with every thing except corbon 305 grain which causes the cylinder to lock up. Really shouldn't fire them in a light revolver like this. Does great ith 250grain winchesters, buffalo bore 170 grains and some hot hand loads. All told I've put about 3 or 4 hundred rounds through it without any other problems. It's not a redhawk but a good gun for the money.

thanks for taking the time to reply, that is exactly the kind of info i am looking for. i am very close to purchasing the same 4" version, great to hear you have used many mag loads without problems, any experience with 44 special ammo? i would think it should be pretty mild. i will just be using off the shelf ammo in both mag and special in it, mostly from walmart etc.

Very pleasant shooting .44 Spl loads. Recoil on this medium frame gun with magnums is managable but stout.

I purchased mine as a .44 Spl gun that has the ability to shoot .44 Mag. If I wanted to shoot a lot of magnum loads I would consider the larger frame guns. ( my opinion ).

That said, I am very fond of my .44 Mag. Tracker, and have had no problems with it. The trigger pull both DA & SA was impressive out of the box on my particular gun. Timing and lockup were dead on as well. I have nothing bad to say about them based on the one I have.

I haven't had any problems with mine so far, but since I am sort of a magnum load junkie, I am about to trade my Tracker off for a Raging Bull. I just feel better firing continuous full power stuff from a large double-locked frame. If you like the size of the Tracker, then you will love the gun. Recoil was nowhere near what I thought it would be. I've fired mostly WWB and Cor-Bon 240 grainers from mine, but I do have some DoubleTap on the way for when I get my Bull  .

I have the snub nose (2 1/2 inch)

Great sights! Great grip! (ribber) Not too heavy.

Trigger is not up to S&W standards. Not crisp or clean like a 629.

But It is my pack gun when I hike, and I wear it at work after hours.

.44 special rounds are a piece of cake! Mag rounds are punishing, but managable. Had no trouble hanging on the the gun. But after 5 rounds, yer done! :p

Well I picked it up this week and went to the range today.

What I am most surprised with is the accuracy; I am completely taking out a 50cent piece size area with the 5 shots at approx 25 to 30 feet.

It shoots extremely well for only having a 3" barrel, (I know it’s advertised as a 4" but the last inch is an expansion chamber for the porting)

Kick is not that bad with the Wal-Mart Winchester 240grain rounds, don’t get me wrong you know you’re shooting a .44 mag but it’s quite controllable. Follow up shots are similar to my .45 ruger semi, again this is surprising for a short barrel, hats off to Taurus for their barrel porting job.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase; this is another fine Taurus product.
