No offense meant, but using a blank gun for self defense is a horrendously bad idea for a myriad of reasons that should be abundantly clear.
If you're unwilling to use lethal force to defend yourself (and there's nothing wrong with you if you aren't) then you should consider looking into less lethal options such as stun guns or pepper spray.
