The Left keeps citing the fact that there are 11 million illegal immigrants in the US as a reason for simply letting them stay, rather than arresting them and deporting them. I wonder if they would say the same thing is we had 11 million unregistered (illegal) machine guns. We could point out that all of these illegal machine guns are not harming anyone, and thus they should be allowed to be registered and brought into the realm of legal machine guns. The owners will even pay the back taxes owed on them and fill out the Form 1s.

This is the kind of cleverness that only impresses those who already agree with the views of the person propounding it.

An obvious flaw in the plan being that there probably aren't 11 million unregistered firearms out there, in large part (contrary to the anti's usually beliefs) because gun owners tend to be a very law abiding bunch.

Nope, doesn't even impress those of us that would like to see it revoked (but I take your point that it certainly wouldn't impress anti's either).

Yeah but it might just be viable if attached to another illeagal alien amnesty bill.

There quickly could be, any AR owner with a Mill/Drill could have one if they really wanted to.

But they don't so there aren't

Civil disobedience never ends well when firearms are involved. Seriously. Bad. Idea.

Enough said. Well said HerrWalther.

They want the massive vote demographic to change the tide forever. It's ironic that also minorities vote some 95% Democrat, vs. 50/50 or so for Caucasians. I remember someone telling me how Texas will be turned into a blue state within 15 or so years, forever; once their minority-majority population reaches voting age and older conservatives die off. Along with many other red states.

We shall see.

I think comparing the legality of guns to the citizen status of actual breathing, feeling people is pretty low. I'm not for amnesty but my ability to legally own a full auto seems awfully petty compared to legislation that will dramatically alter and at potentially ruin people's lives and tear apart families.

And I wouldn't worry too much about red states turning blue. The right has gotten way too good at overt gerrymandering to let that happen any time soon.
