I'm sure this has been discussed before so I'm sorry if this "triggers" anyone.

Looking for a way to mount a AR9 10" pistol with a brace in the trunk of a full size sedan.

Store bought or homemade I'm open to suggestions.

I’d get a couple ATV mounts and make brackets so it’s held up below the package tray forward of the trunk lid. Would still give you full use of the trunk and even if people opened the trunk, they wouldn’t see it unless they bent down inside the trunk to look.

Similar to my jeep mount.

I can think of several ways, depending on your particular trunk configuration.

If you carry much in your trunk, then under the overhang area immediately behind your back seat may be a place where you can design/build a bracket/box to be mounted.

For several years I used to keep a fishing pole strapped under that area using velcro so that I'd always have it in the car and it wouldn't be damaged by other things I typically carried, or might carry.

Not that I would recommend velcro, mind you. A gun isn't a fishing pole, and it certainly wouldn't be as secure as I'd like.

You may also be able to fabricate something to mount on the interior side of one of the rear wheel wells. For example, some kind of metal/wooden box with a lid/door/panel on it which could be bolted to the side there. It would offer physical protection against other items you'd carry in your trunk, be easy to pack around, allow access to the spare tire well, and provide a modicum of security by keeping the gun "out of sight, out of mind" should anybody view inside the trunk, and some minor physical security by being in a bolted, lockable box.

I bought magnets to reconfigure my safe as I had to many rifles. I used the ones on the link and put duct tape over the magnet so it would not mar the bluing on the rifles it helps. In areas where I did not want to drill a hole for the magnet I used rubber cement that when it dries will hold the magnet but can easily be removed later if you wish as the rubber cement will stretch. This are strong magnets like 95 pound pull but they also have 35 pound pull that I have under my desk and other areas of the house with a gun ready for any home invasion.

in my wifes suv (2019 nissan roque). There is a spot in the back for sports equipment or something. it holds a rifle perfect. I keep it in there and some spare mags. I do not care about the finish on the rifle. But if i were, i would have it in a soft case.

I also used a old mag in my old beater truck. I took the base plate off and screwed it to the center console and the out the mag body on it. It would work in the back of a SUV.

A friend of mine uses these in his vehicles. He says they work really well.

Instead of mounting it to a wall in his house he bolts them into the underside of his flip up truck seat and inside the truck of his car against the rear panel of the trunk.

Maybe this will help.
