Vintage stock refinishing question

I have a Remington Model 32 that has a stock that has been refinished with linseed oil. Is it possible to put polyurethane on top of this finish.

Usually not.
Polyurethane doesn't adhere to oily wood, and usually refuses to dry, staying slightly sticky.

If the wood isn't too oily, it may work.
Other options are to use a non-polyurethane "Spar varnish", or give it a real oil finish:

I read that thread and it looks like to way to go for me.

Where did you find Min wax Antique Oil Finish? I'm not having any luck finding it locally.

Thanks for the info, but I'll have to find it locally. They want $8.95 shipping (UPS ground) for a $5.42 item.

My local Lowe's and Home Depot don't carry it, but I'll be traveling this weekend, maybe I'll find it along the way.
