True but a great scope with a wonderful warranty does you no good if you have an issue and the company has gone out of business. Not a big deal on a $200 scope but significant if it's ten times that much. May or may not be a dealbreaker but it's something to consider......but to discount something good just because you haven't heard of it could leave you missing out on something.
Or you just think that a product should stand the test of time before it is put on par with those that have. And for the record, a handful of anonymous internet posters saying that they have had X-brand scope for a couple years and that it has served them well is meaningless to me. Because you can find folks that say that about anything. Be it Tasco or Zeiss....anyone who refuses to put these optics on par with higher end stuff has obviously never used one, or are snobs.
I also put very little stock in written warranties. Because I'd much rather have something of quality with zero warranty (Ruger) than something cheap with a wonderful warranty (Henry). Warranties are more marketing tools than anything.
