Vortex Vanquish BassPro Black Friday Scope?

Need a scope, was going to buy the Vortex Crossfire II in 4x12x44mm, which comes with a 4" sunshade. It's $169 all the time.

BP/Cabelas has a Vortex Vanquish 4x12x40mm, which reviews say is the Diamondback Tactical rebadged, for $150 Black Friday. Don't know if it comes with a sunshade, but that's an extra $20 if it doesn't.

Opinions on the Diamondback Tactical 40mm vs the Crossfire II 44mm? Does the glass make up the difference in objective?

Hmm, that maybe a diamondback tactical with regular turrets and caps, not sure about the glass. Other than the field of view there isn't much to compare them as BP doesn't appear to list any other specs. Seems that the suggested price of $199 would be slightly over half of what they ask for a DB tactical @ $349. That means there is either a crazy mark up on the DB tactical or they skimped on something with the vanquish (or both).
I wouldn't buy any more low-end vortex scopes myself. I've got a few, including a DB tactical 4-12, and wouldn't buy any less than a Viper HS now.

I'm of the same opinion, Vortex optics are a good deal at the higher middle end and above, but I've been universally unimpressed with the Crossfire, and not thrilled with the Diamond Backs.
Of the two tho I'd get a DB before a CF, even if it costs more.

I’ve found the Diamondback to be decent in good light. In low light I think they are pretty bad. I’ll take one any time over a Crossfire.

I do have a Crossfire 2-7x32 Rimfire on a Marlin Model 60. It is adequate for its use which is shots less than 50 yards in good light on a rifle that never gets used. The eyebox and eye relief on all Crossfires over 9X is abominable to me and I’ve mounted quite a few for customers. I don’t know how to say it exactly but my eyes have to strain to see what I’m looking at on anything above 9X on a Crossfire.
