I read lots of threads on lots of boards saying Vulcan Arms makes junk. So, I was a little hesitant before I bought a pair of VA MAC-10 clones from SOG. But for $289 each, I couldn't pass it up.

The quality was extremely good considering the price, nice finish and the parts are all well made and well fitted. After a quick disassembly and a generous application of Mil-Tec oil and grease, my brother and I took the pair out for a break-in. We put two 30-round magazines through each pistol, and out of 120 rounds we only had 5 fail-to-fire and one stovepipe. Both of my two FTF's I would say were due to shooting one-handed where I may have "limp wristed" it. I wasn't shooting for accuracy so I can't speak to that, but the pistols both functioned very well out of the box. And this was with my cast LRN reloads, not factory stuff.

I don't know how practical these pistols are for... whatever, but they're fun to shoot and the two I got didn't seem to deserve the bad rep I'd been reading about Vulcan Arms. The price was sure right!

MAC clones, now?

<rhetorical> Is there any type of gun that is safe from them? </rhetorical>

Glad to hear your pistols don't meet the manufacturer's usual standards.

The worst firearms experience in my life was with one of Vulcan's HK-94 clones, it was the without a doubt the biggest POS I have ever owned and I'm truly embarrassed to say that I even bought one to begin with.

The gun was poorly finished, parts came loose after only one range trip, it never functioned properly, I don't think I ever got through one mag without malfunction. I sent it back and had the worst customer service experience of my life. They didn't respond to my emails and when I did finally get someone on the phone they were extremely rude. It took two months to get the gun back after I sent it to them and when I got it back it still didn't work. The person that I spoke to at Vulcan even had the audacity to blame me for the gun not working right, saying that I was "too rough with it". I told him that was funny because I had taken the gun out three times and it didn't work right from day one. As for being rough with it I informed him that I had taken the gun to and from the range in a case and had lifted the gun to my should to fire it, apparently that's considered "being too rough with it"

I paid about $1,300 or so for that POS gun and sold it for about $400 on gunbroker and I even warned the potential buyer in the gunbroker listing description that the gun was a POS.

Granted this was about four or five years ago that all this happened, if only I had done my research ahead of time before buying from Vulcan, I could have saved so much money if I had:banghead:

I seriously can't understand how Vulcan is still in business, they must make most of their money off suckers like myself who neglect to do proper research before buying.

I'm glad you are happy with your Vulcan product, I wish you the very best with it.
