Wal Mart price check thread

Knowing that prices go up in some places before it does others, how about a Wal Mart price check thread. At least it's differant from the walmart bashing threads.

WalMart prices

I beat myself and went to the local WalMart to do battle with the howling hordes of WalMartians to buy some "stuff". While there I went to the sporting goods dept to see if they even carried ammo, and was pleasantly surprised to find an older gentleman there who knew his stuff. While I waited and looked at the ammo selection, he was very patiently explain the workings of a rod and reel to a young woman who was buying a gift for her husband. Then he turned to me and went into great detail about their ammo selection, and seemed to be having a good time doing it. Sure is a refreshing change from talking to a teenager who knows NOTHING about what they're selling and doesn't WANT to know.Long story short, the prices were the same as posted as I remember. I have nothing against WalMart for being successful, I just don't like the crowds. This experience MAY change that attitude some. Think I'll buy some 250 packs of .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. Now if they only delivered! O C

What everyone needs is a friend that works at Wal Mart, my wife works there and she gets a 10% discount on anything not on sale. So that helps with ammo prices.

My theory is that not all Wal Mart location's price goes up at the same time, and so a price comparison around the country could tell us what price jumps to expect. It might be handy for those of use looking to stock up before a jump.

For example, WWB jumped from $14.98 to $18.98 here over night. if had known I would have stocked up.


For a referance im not looking for "i hate walmart", "i love walmart", or other opinionated comments about Wal Mart. This is simply for information gathering purposes only.

oh, almost forgot im located in Middle TN.

In W. WA, yesterday:

WWB 100-rd "Value Pack" .45 ACP is $29.88
Blazer Brass 50-rd .45 ACP is $14.88.
A year ago, both sold for right around 10 bucks per 50 rounds.

Remingonton green/white box .223 is $8.93 for a box of 20 rds. A year ago, was about 6 bucks here.

Here in NoVA Wally World still has CCI Blazer Brass 9mm for $8.97 per box of 50rnds. It sells out fast thou.
