I asked the supervisor of a Walmart in New Mexico why there was no ammo on the shelves, and could I place a special order? I got more answers from this supervisor then I expected. The supervisor took quite a bit of time to explain that when the rush on ammo started smaller comapanies rushed to get their orders in, but the big giant Walmart didn't and got way behind in recieving ammo and their warehouses went empty. Futhermore was explained to me why this store sells no firerams. As Walmarts are constantly approached by large metro cities not to sell guns or ammunition because of gang violence, etc. So the corporate offices of Walmart make a decision across the board , and eventually all Walmarts will be out of the firearms & ammunition sales period. The supervisor also said that all this was against Sam Walton's beliefs, that he believed in the 2nd Amendment and never intended for his stores not to sell guns and ammo. That recently Alaska stores had stopped selling handguns when Walmart contracts to buy them had run out/expired. I learned that Walmarts are more interested in international, building new stores in China, South America, and Europe. I came away with the impression that the people that run Walmart are anti gun and are weaning Walmart off of anything to do with them.
There is almost nothing I really need at Walmart now, I can get it in less of a wait in line at any other store in town, and for the same or less money.

I felt the same now I have at least 5 within 100 mi. The firearm sales is wierd here, some stores do and some don't. In Rifle Co. they quit guns.
