hi it's been awhile but i have a question to pose .i have a new unfired rockriver lar 15 with a ironwood designs walnut stock i put together for my dad before he passed away.it was treated withn three coat's of tongue oil and assembled .it is to beautiful to shoot ! should i coat the stock with a wax to further seal the wood or go as is .

My suggestion is old school... once a year, wipe it down with 0000 steel wool, wipe with a tack cloth, and put on another coat (light) of oil rubbed in with paper from a brown paper bag. That’s how I finished the stock on my M1 and refinished my SMLE. I put a new light coat of oil finish on my long guns yearly.
Personally I prefer the color I get from birchwood-Casey True oil.
