Walther hinting at new pistol for February

The first time I used it was on my wifes pk380.. That was the first time I'd seen one. That was the one that made me say "why don't they all have this?" I can hit it with my trigger finger or I can hit it with my thumb as needed due to the small frame size. never accidentally hit it. Pretty sure we shot that gun we upwards of 15000 rounds before she upgraded to the vp9.

Like you said though, just depends on the person. After owning the pk380 and the vp9 I wouldn't hesitate to take a paddle release on any gun I could get one, and it would be preferred. Training with any firearm will overcome or make it work but initial preference would be a paddle. .. alas, only my wifes guns have them....

Some of you are making assumptions that the holster and magazines are associated with the fantasy gun. That may or may not be the case (I suspect it is), but it could also be a distractor. I suspect it will be either a P365 competitor, a 10mm PPQ, and/or a model now with RDS mounting capability.

Walther gets overlooked because they often show up late to the party. However, their guns are excellent and they have top notch customer service too.

I really doubt whatever it is will have the European mag catch. They tried that with the PPS M1 and the american market hated it so much that when they released the PPS M2, going to a button release was pretty much the only change.

My apologies then

Judging from the empty holster on the side, it looks like it is going to be a full size PPQ style pistol. I would like a PPQ 45 with a paddle release, probably not that. 10mm PPQ less likely. My guess is it will be a steel frame model of some type.

That guy is Bill Blowers. He's a trainer and has been running the Walthers for a while. He can shoot the crap out of the metal frame PPQ.

To me the holster doesn't mean anything. Could be another full size gun and could have just snapped this pic in between drills at his class with a new sub compact.

It would be nice if it was a double stack PPS to compare with the Hellcat and 365..

You would think that since Sig made the 365 others would have jumped on board, but they haven't except Fieldspring (I refuse to say their real name) w/ the Hellcat. If Walther goes in this direction, I'm willing to give them a chance, but they all seem to be coming in at the same $500 price and at that point I question if I'm getting $500 worth of gun as I use to be able to spend half that on an LC9s and could on a Taurus G2 slim.

The good thing about more 10 rd 1.5x stacks on the market is more competition and prices will go down at some point, but it won't be until Ruger, Kel Tec, or Taurus bring their own version to market for much less.

That said the picture looks like it's a full sized doublestack judging by the magazines and the holster. In that event, unless it's a DA/SA... *yawn*
