The first time I used it was on my wifes pk380.. That was the first time I'd seen one. That was the one that made me say "why don't they all have this?" I can hit it with my trigger finger or I can hit it with my thumb as needed due to the small frame size. never accidentally hit it. Pretty sure we shot that gun we upwards of 15000 rounds before she upgraded to the vp9.
Like you said though, just depends on the person. After owning the pk380 and the vp9 I wouldn't hesitate to take a paddle release on any gun I could get one, and it would be preferred. Training with any firearm will overcome or make it work but initial preference would be a paddle. .. alas, only my wifes guns have them....
