I paid too much for mine, when back in the early days of introduction ($575). It was the original German-proofed frame, slide, barrel, etc. It shoots fine, and is more accurate than I am. The 40 round is pretty stiff in the polymer guns, but the P99 holds up very well. The reliability was sketchy, depending on the magazine follwers and generation magazine tube . The new ones with green frames should have upgraded magazines. I am not a big fan of the trigger, but the Glock is no better. Buy it if you like one for the collection, but it is a utilitarian gun. I am back to steel guns of old like 1911 and SMith revolvers where trigger pulls are like breaking glass - crisp.
