I have one with the Smith & Wesson stamp. Paddle release. I will not part with it.
Would that be the Walther P99 twin or did Smith and Walther do a PPQ before the breakup??

There were never any s&w ppq's like the sw99 smith version of the p99 that I'm aware of at least. It would have been dubbed the swpq, doesn't have the right ring to it lolYes I remember that Smith was bringing them, but I thought they "broke up" right as Walther was debuting the PPQ. I wasn't aware that there were any Smith PPQ's, only P99's. (Unless the PPQ only has a small roll mark saying "imported by S&W" as opposed to the P99 and S&W hybrid guns)
Maybe not just you, I know a few people who shoot the compact versions of guns better than their full size variants. My 5” Q is almost phenomenal in the accuracy department. My standard is pretty dang on good to.This is just one man's, and not an expert shooter's, opinion. I had the PPQ M2 5" 9mm & thought it was the coolest looking gun ever. But I didn't shoot it that well & traded it. Then I came across a standard PPQ M2 9mm I couldn't pass on, and I shoot lights out with it. Maybe it's just me . . .

Here is what a PPQ with the S&W marking looks like. I bought mine in November 2011.
