Holy cow! Did you read the comments? Simply amazing that people can be so ignorant about their RIGHTS as an American citizen.

Wow, everyone comment that I skimmed through was some ignorant fool acting like they even understood what they read. Someone should tell them how many people own AR-15s in the US. Actually I'd like to know that too!

why you don't let cops in your house if you happen to have evidence of a couple of felonies in plain sight.

There - that's more accurate! Look, the guy was breaking the law. You may not like the law; I don't like the law. But the guy had the option of following it. I'm pretty sure he knew he was living in MA and that he was in possession of the guns.

The sad thing is that in a few years this won't likely even be illegal in MA as the implications of Heller work their way through the courts.

"AR-15 is some serious sh-t! I believe these are what our soldiers carry. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong."
Wow really? What are these idiots in the people's republic of MA drinking?

Any see how they all so fast to jump to conclusions he is illegal (hey, he has a weird name. No Americans have such names as if there is list of legitimate names to pick from?). But hey, he is a guy with a gun and only illegals have guns in the home right? What a bunch of hooooweee. Illegal? I didn't see anywhere he was anything but a grumpy old American. :D You might guess from my statements I have a weird name you probably never heard, and you would be right. I am as American as apple pie, but I suppose in MA my name makes me an illegal alien of sorts? I thought they were progressive down there..

And the cops: Oh man, I'd never move there..just saying. While as Oro says they might infact have real grounds for the gun charges, but then they throw in a charge of causing a public disturbance while armed. The law allows them to cook up this stuff? It must be because the judges are probably so anti around there, they'd actually consider this stuff. All his guns were unloaded too, and public disturbance because some laser level by the cops' own assesment was inadvertently pointing into the neighbor's house. If there was no gun in the house, they would not have charged him with anything, why add these charges then?

Looks to me like this guy is getting railroaded and crucified for not being like the rest of the sheeple. Where does it say you must conform or else? Whatever happened to equal under the law?

It should be a law that all antis have to move to Massachusetts and then the rest of the US should disown them, New Jersey, New York and the Republik Of Kailifornia.

When are people gonna stop putting up with this and enforce the Constitution? The answer is very soon!

WOW the comments hurt my head too much to continue reading

what state was this from?

i didnt think any place other than California had "high capacity" laws anymore even maryland relaxed this after the AWB was over

i do say that the old man should have politly informed the police that in order to come in they need a warrent other than that i guess it was just poor choice and bad luck

I revealed to a friend over the weekend that I am a gun owner. He was coming over to visit with his other half. 30 minutes later, they cancelled on me. I suspect it had to do with the "gun". They have been over a bunch of times with the guns in the house, and none of them ever bit them. They just didn't know they were here.

Friend: "You what? You bought what? Wooooow, woow. {screaming now} really? Let me call you back we are eating now..."
Me: :uhoh:

Later:
Friend: "You better know the laws of carrying a gun. I wouldn't want to get caught with one. Not for me. I don't want no guns anywhere in my house or near me. I don't want the optiuon period!!"

Me: "Dude, first of all its legal, second who talked about carrying? BTW there is legal carry here and you'd be surprised how many people have them. And, I bought them legally from a FFL shop, so what are you talking about?"

Friend: "Wow, I never imagined you were the type, you just don't have the personality, you of all people? I am really shocked!!!"

Me: "I did not buy to hurt anyone, and they don't hurt anyone by themselves, its like knife. It doesn't cut you by itself does it?"

Friend: "Nooo man, knives don't fly! Guns shoot, I just don't even want the chance of anything ever happening.."

Me: "Ok, its like people with car interest. So I like shooting and you have been to the range and shot rifles too even with your significant other true?"

Friend: "Yeah, its an expensive hobby. Anyway, I don't care for guns. Its fun shooting though, I just don't want the gun near or in my house. Its wrong."

Me: :(

Idiot letter writer in linked article said:

You're wrong.
Pretty sure the guns our soldiers are issued have full auto or "triburst" capacity.
Know for a fact that the AR-15 style rifle I have doesn't.

Oh yeah pal -- the guns our soldierboys get aren't refered to as "AR-15s." They are either M-16s or M-4 type firearms.

I can see right now - when I die some moron who never fixed anything in his life is going to get a look at my shop and say, "For God's sake, why does this lunatic need 35 different 9/16" wrenches? Doesn't he know everything's metric now? Hasn't he ever heard of a repairman?"

I live in CT and people give my state crap for being anti-gun but Mass is whole different world. I am considering getting an out of state carry permit for Mass so I can have safe passage with my firearms to one of my favorite shooting ranges. It appears I will have to take a 10 hour class to get the privilege to apply. I have been considering for seven months now.

This is like the twilight zone. Even my friends who don't shoot or don't have a desire to own a gun always want to see them. Your friend sounds like a "closeted" gun lover. It's ok for him to have fun with them but not to take them home.

I am so glad I live in Virginia...the anti gunners don't realize that prohibition will not work, except to disarm the law abiding...but they don't care, nothing intrudes upon their world view...how do we counter this?

I dont know the law there but the rifle should be legit right, the magazines are the real issue.

Any clarification?

Idiot on several counts; illegal gun possession displayed for all to see, allowed policemen in to see illegal guns, purposely or accidentally harassing neighbors with unsecured laser level, wow.

The fact that I don't agree he should be prosecuted is beside the point.

Sounds like the guy is a couple French fries short of a Happy Meal. What the heck was he doing with a laser level out with a random collection of guns lying on the floor at midnight? Doesn't sound dangerous, just a bit wacky.
